SUMMARY:International Yoga Day Retreat
DESCRIPTION:International Yoga Day\, observed on June 21\, celebrates the long history and transforming power of yoga\, a physical activity that promotes spiritual enlightenment and deepens meditation. Yoga was developed in India thousands of years ago with the intention of bringing the mind\, body\, and spirit together and assisting people in discovering a more profound awareness of both the self and the cosmos. With time\, yoga became well-known throughout the world\, growing from its traditional spiritual origins to become a popular form of exercise and relaxation. \nPrime Minister Narendra Modi first proposed the idea of International Yoga Day in a 2014 speech to the UN General Assembly. With the support of 177 countries\, June 21—the Summer Solstice\, the longest day of the year—was chosen as the day to promote yoga. During the first event in 2015\, thousands of people practiced yoga in New Delhi including Prime Minister Modi and many other well-known figures. \nAlthough this will only be the eleventh celebration of International Yoga Day\, the practise of yoga has deep and age-old roots. Beyond just physical activity\, yoga practice dives into spirituality and mindfulness\, promoting balance between the body\, mind\, and spirit. \nAsanas\, or yoga poses\, are inspired by spiritual ideas and the natural environment. Every posture has a deeper meaning that reflects the search for inner harmony and the interdependence of all living things. Yoga practitioners develop emotional fortitude\, cerebral clarity\, and spiritual awareness in addition to improving their physical well-being. \nEssentially\, International Yoga Day invites people all over the world to participate on a path of self-exploration and transformation by serving as a reminder of the ageless wisdom and global appeal of yoga. Let’s embrace the profound teachings of yoga on this day\, acknowledging its ability to uplift\, heal\, and bring our bodies\, minds\, and spirits together. \nParticipants in this workshop will practice and learn a simple yoga routine that can be practiced regularly at home. The routine combines physical postures (asanas) with controlled breathing (pranayama) and meditation. The physical benefits of this routine include enhanced flexibility\, strength\, balance\, reduced stress and greater relaxation. Mentally\, the routine will promote mindfulness\, reduce anxiety\, and improve mental clarity. Regular practice of this routine can lead to improved overall well-being and a harmonious mind-body connection. \nEach day of the workshop will include short but invigorating yoga asana sessions\, pranayama and traditional yogic cleansing processes. The workshop will be guided by yogi Praveen Mishra\, trained Hatha Yoga teacher. \nThe workshop is open to all ages and does not require any fitness level or prior experience with yoga. Participants should wear loose-fitting clothes and bring a handkerchief. Participants are welcome to bring their own yoga mats & bricks\, if they have them. Shoes suitable for trekking would be helpful\, and umbrellas\, in case of monsoon rains. \nFees & Accommodations:\nOne day: Rs 5\,000.
