A Week of Silence – A Week for the Soul”  Retreat Schedule

Paramhansa Yogananda said: “The soul loves to meditate, for in contact with the Spirit lies its greatest joy. If, then, you experience mental resistance during meditation, remember that reluctance to meditate comes from the ego; it doesn’t belong to the soul.”

Like meditation, seclusion can appear daunting or even fearsome at first, because it’s unfamiliar. Yet, again like meditation, if we experience mental resistance to it, it’s probably coming from the ego rather than the soul. “The majority usually find, once accustomed to it, that outer peace invites inner peace, and that silence can be a window onto the most glorious Divine eloquence!” — Nayaswami Sudarshan, from “Seclusion: The Joyful Art of Spending Quality Time with God.”

We’re offering this special week of guided seclusion in order to introduce seclusion to those who have not yet experienced it. Meditate deeper and deeper in the uplifting vibrations of Swami Kriyananda’s home. Take walks in nature, surrounded by waterfalls and lush vegetation during monsoon season, the most inward time of the year. Spend time talking to God and getting better acquainted, so you can be with Him more deeply the rest of the year.

Note:      This week-long period of guided seclusion follows immediately after the “Going Deeper Within” weekend retreat.  All participants in this retreat are encouraged to start with that.

10:30-12:30 pm Seclusion: What it is, How to do it, & Overcoming Common Difficulties (class with Nayaswami Jaya & other acharyas)
1:00-2:00 Lunch
3:00-5:00 Registration, final preparations for seclusion, tour of the land
4:00-5:00 Tour of the land, focusing on hiking trails & meditation spots
6:00-7:00 Chanting & Meditation at Swamiji’s Home
7:00-8:00 Dinner
