Join us for an all day Christmas Meditation and bring balance and deep awareness to your Christmas celebrations!

It is a day dedicated to communion with Christ Consciousness—a profound opportunity for an inner experience of the Divine. Though its length may seem intimidating, you may be surprised at how easily the soul welcomes long periods of deep quiet. Chanting, music, and inspirational readings and recordings carry you along. The more people who come to meditate together, the stronger the support for deep meditation.

This tradition was begun by Paramhansa Yogananda, and has become the heart of Ananda’s Christmas celebration:
A day dedicated to communion with Christ Consciousness. Don’t be intimidated by the length. Even for beginners, it’s not difficult. Group energy plus chanting, music, and inspirational talks by Yogananda and Kriyananda carry you along.

If you can’t participate all day we will have a break to depart or join in quietly. The last hour of our meditation we will have a candle offering to Christ with music and inner rejoicing.

“Christ is only suggested in social Christmas festivities, but He is seen and felt as an everlasting, ever-joyous fact in the cradle of divine ecstasy. Make the unknown Christ known within yourself by seeing Him born a second time as the ever-new, ever increasing joy of your daily deep meditation.” – Paramhansa Yogananda

The All-Day Christmas meditation is a tradition Paramhansa Yogananda started in 1931 as a time to worship God as expressed through the life of Jesus Christ and to expand our awareness of the Christ Consciousness in our own souls. We invite you to enter into this meditation with an attitude of devotion and surrender, offering all that you are up to God and Christ.

Tips:

  • Come on time to participate in energization exercises and to be in place for meditation.
  • Eight hours might seem like a long time, but if you sit still right away you can go deep into meditation, and beyond time and space. Almost universally the time passes far too quickly. Periods of chanting can help you dive more deeply within
  • Be inward, move as little as possible, even during the chanting periods. Let the chanting take you more deeply within; don’t treat them as “breaks” but rather as a continuation of your experience of Christ within.
  • Chairs are provided or bring your own meditation gear for floor sitting including a shawl or sweater. (Malas, aum boards, and earplugs if you use them.)
  • Come for as much as you are able, leave when you need to. If you can arrange to leave at a break or chanting/reading, that would be serviceful to those around you.
  • Dress in comfortable QUIET clothing—please no clothing that rustles loudly (nylon, etc.)
  • Water, tea, and fruit and light food will be available as needed in the dinning area

Come and Experience the Bliss of Inner Communion with Christ Consciousness with us on Sunday, December 21, 2014!

Joy to you!
