Swami Kriyananda’s successor, Nayaswami Jyotish, to visit Ananda Pune
Ananda’s worldwide spiritual directors, Nayaswamis Jyotish and Devi Novak, will be in residence at Ananda Pune’s Kriya Yoga Community from 24 October-7 November.
Nayaswami Jyotish, who has devoted his life to serving and building Ananda for over 45 years, was named by Swami Kriyananda to lead Ananda’s global mission when Kriyananda was gone. Swami Kriyananda left his body earlier this year on 21 April.
Ananda was founded by Swami Kriyananda in 1967 to carry forward the wisdom and work of the great Indian avatar Paramhansa Yogananda, author of the spiritual classic Autobiography of a Yogi.
Jyotish and Devi have been instrumental in creating the worldwide movement that is Ananda today. It reaches into more than 200 countries, and eight Ananda “world brotherhood communities” have established a new paradigm for cooperative, self-sufficient, spiritual living. Seven of these thriving communities are located in America and Europe. The eighth is here in India, nestled in the Western Ghats adjacent to Pune, where devotees live, serve and worship together in divine friendship.
Jyotish and Devi will be our featured guests at a special retreat on the weekend of 26-27 October, discussing the joys and benefits of community living, the vision for Ananda in the years to come, and how to have lasting happiness in this challenging world of ours. They will also be offer other programs during their Pune visit, including a satsang on __ November at Ananda’s Kriya Yoga Centre in the heart of Pune.
Attendees at Jyotish and Devi’s October retreat will also enjoy daily group meditations, an evening kirtan, delicious vegetarian meals, and the irresistible serenity of our 34 acres in the beautiful hill country between Pirangut and Lavasa.
