Ananda Kriya Yogashram
“The Joyful Art of Parenting with Education for Life” Retreat Schedule
Two half days, 15–16 August 2015
Swami Kriyananda’s acclaimed “Education for Life” approach, built on Yoganandaji’s teaching principles, has as much value for parents as for schools. With EFL, parents discover profoundly effective ways to prepare their children for life’s challenges and expand their horizons.
On a weekend honouring the independence of a country, come explore how we can give our children the still deeper independence that grows from understanding and acting on challenges and choices inherent in every situation, overcoming limitations and fears. The programme will include not only delving into the Education for Life approach but how it can be applied in your own family.
- Grandparents are welcome. So too are children; they will have special separate activities.
- This retreat begins Saturday afternoon due to the requirement at many schools for children to come that morning for Independence Day activities.
As former President Abdul Kalam—of happy memory—exclaimed upon meeting with Swami Kriyananda in 2006: “Education for Life is just what India needs!”
- In preparation for the retreat, please reflect with your spouse on several parenting issues you’ve found challenging and send to pkirby@edforlife. org —preferably by 13 August.
- It would also be helpful before coming, though not required, to read Kriyanandaji’s book Education for Life, available at our city centre or in our ashram.
